Tri 4 Schools—Sun Prairie
I'm a little late on this post but I think it's worth talking about.
Let me start by saying, I am not a race photographer. There are plenty of good photographers who do that sort of thing in the Madison area.
I am a triathlete (although I still have a hard time calling myself one). Not of the elite status, mind you. But I've finished some tough races and I just bought a sweet new tri bike from Trek, so I guess it's official. I'm a triathlete.
So when Prairie Athletic Tri Team hosted the Tri 4 Schools kids triathlon it made sense that I volunteer to take photos. And I'm so glad I did!
Tri 4 Schools is "a non-profit organization in Dane County that uses the sports of swimming, biking, and running as platforms to get kids active and fight childhood obesity. Events and programs aim to teach children about setting and achieving goals, fitness, nutrition, sportsmanship and self-confidence" to kids 14 and under.
100% of our race entry fees go back to schools
If you have kids, I highly recommend you check this organization out!
This year's Tri 4 Schools Sun Prairie Kids Triathlon was held June 23rd with 450 young athlete participants, including students from two dual language program schools.
It's very inspirational to watch these kids compete fiercely, smile at the joy of it and finish as a "triathlete"! An adult triathlete can really learn a lot from these kids.
Here are a few of my favorite photos. (Warning! They are set to a rockin' tune. So turn down the volume if you're at work. ;)
